Tomo Matsuo is a conductor with a diverse professional background spanning music and leadership in other fields. He serves as Music Director of the Doctors' Orchestra (Doctors' Orchestral Society of New York) and is the Conductor and Music Director Designate of the World Civic Orchestra. Previously, he was Music Director of the 92Y Orchestra, affiliated with the 92nd Street Y organization and New York City’s oldest community-based orchestra. Tomo has conducted at venues including Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center, Merkin Hall in New York, and Zeneakadémia in Budapest. His programming reflects a commitment to both classical repertoire and contemporary music, with recent performances featuring works by composers such as Kevin Puts, Gregory Vajda, and Robert Sirota.
