Tomo Matsuo is a conductor and entrepreneur whose work spans the arts, technology, and finance. He serves as Music Director and Conductor of both the World Civic Orchestra and the Doctors' Orchestra (Doctors' Orchestral Society of New York). Previously, he was Music Director of the 92nd Street Y Orchestra, one of New York’s longest-standing community ensembles. He has led performances around the world, including appearances at Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center, Merkin Hall, and the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest. His programming blends core orchestral repertoire with contemporary voices, recently highlighting works by Kevin Puts, Gregory Vajda, and Robert Sirota.
In parallel with his musical career, Tomo is the founder and CEO of AdvanceIQ.ai, a portfolio and risk intelligence platform serving the private credit and lending markets. He has held senior executive roles in global lending, payments, and SaaS, and pioneered nontraditional financing models in Japan. He also serves on nonprofit boards , including Sandbox Percussion, a GRAMMY®-nominated ensemble known for redefining the possibilities of contemporary percussion through bold collaborations and original commissions.
